To define the enzymatic and genetic basis of X-linked phosphoribosylpyrophosphate synthetase (PRS) catalytic superactivity, we measured concentrations of X-linked PRS1 and PRS2 isoforms in cultured fibroblasts and lymphoblasts by immunoblotting after separation by polyacrylamide-urea isoelectric focusing.
