Nucleotide sequence analysis of the DNA region carrying transposon Tn5-1087b from the Anabaena 7120 nitrogen fixation-deficient mutant YC16 revealed the presence of a novel repeated DNA element in cyanobacteria designated long tandemly repeated repetitive (LTRR) sequence.
