Infectious pancreatic necrosis virus (IPNV), a Birnaviridae with a double-stranded RNA genome of two segments, is an important aquatic pathogen. Previous characterizations of the RNA and polypeptide patterns of different IPNV isolates have uncovered a wide variety of electropherotypes.
