Fragile-X and Sotos phenotypes may be difficult to distinguish. This is illustrated with a case report. Computer assisted phenotype analyses (MDDB), using the complete trait list of this patient, suggested the fragile-X diagnosis, which later was confirmed by molecular techniques.
