The protein sequences of seven members of the superoxide dismutase (SOD) family from halophilic archaebacteria have been aligned and compared with each other and with the homologous Mn and Fe SOD sequences from eubacteria and the methanogenic archaebacterium Methanobacterium thermoautotrophicum.
