Using restriction analysis of polymerase chain reaction (PCR)-amplified DNA, the cytomegalovirus (CMV) envelope glycoprotein (gB and gH) genotypes were determined for virus isolates from 128 bone marrow transplant recipients with fatal or nonfatal CMV.
