The cyprinid fishes Luxilus cornutus and Luxilus chrysocephalus hybridize extensively in a zone extending through the Great Lakes region with extensive introgression of L. cornutus mtDNA occurring in populations of L. chrysocephalus south of the present hybrid zone in Ohio.
