Restriction endonuclease analysis of amplified nucleocapsid protein genes from mouse hepatitis virus (MHV) was used to differentiate 12 strains isolated from mouse liver or transplantable tumors from five facilities, and the restriction patterns of the isolates were compared with those of five well-defined MHV strains, A59, JHM, 2, S and Nu-67.
