BACKGROUND: Kaposi sarcoma-associated herpesvirus (KSHV) causes several diseases among people with HIV (PWH), including Kaposi sarcoma (KS), multicentric Castleman disease (MCD), primary effusion lymphoma (PEL), and KSHV inflammatory cytokine syndrome (KICS), known as KSHV-associated diseases (KAD).
