Chondrocalcinosis (CCAL), also known as calcium pyrophosphate dihydrate deposition disease (CPPDD), is a frequent multifactorial condition in the elderly, but there are two rare autosomal dominant Mendelian forms, CCAL1 (OMIM %600668) and CCAL2.
