This study aimed to determine virulence determinants among S. aureus isolated from wild pigeons and flies around a hospital area in Durban in South Africa. Following enrichment and bacterial growth, DNA extraction using the boiling method was performed. Overall, 57 out of 252 samples (22.6%) were positive for S. aureus.
