RATIONALE: Primary spontaneous pneumothorax (PSP) is a manifestation of Vascular Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (vEDS) caused by heterozygous mutations in the COL3A1 gene. vEDS is a rare inherited disorder with an prevalence of one in 150,000.
