Crustacean female sex hormone (CFSH) is believed to regulate the development of female-related phenotypes in crustaceans. However, its role in gonadal development has been understudied. This study identified a CFSH gene, Lvit-CFSH1b, in the peppermint shrimp Lysmata vittata, a protandric simultaneous hermaphroditism (PSH) species.
