OBJECTIVE: Female carriers of BRCA1/2 gene mutations are at an increased lifetime risk for breast and ovarian cancers. They are recommended to undergo risk-reducing surgery, including bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy (RR-BSO), upon completion of childbearing.
