Heritable Thoracic Aortic Disease (HTAD) is caused by mutation of a gene that confers a high risk for thoracic aortic aneurysms and dissections. Syndromic HTAD are associated with systemic manifestations and include Marfan, Loeys-Dietz, vascular Ehlers Danlos and Turner Syndromes.
