Vibrio parahaemolyticus, a causative agent of seafood-associated gastroenteritis, undergoes opaque-translucent (OP-TR) colony switching associated with capsular polysaccharide (CPS) production. Here, we showed that V. parahaemolyticus was also able to naturally and reversibly switch between wrinkly and smooth phenotypes.
