Five novel chicken astrovirus (CAstV) strains, designated ZDF, MHC, WSC, WSW and MHW, were successfully isolated from chickens with gout, and were subjected to full genome sequencing characterization and tested for their pathogenic effects in specific pathogen-free (SPF) chicken embryos and chickens.
