Pure erythroid leukemia (PEL) is a rare acute leukemia with a dismal prognosis. TP53 mutations are a dominant feature of PEL, but the characteristics of TP53 alterations in PEL without prior exposure to cytotoxic therapy (d-PEL) or with such exposure (t-PEL) is unknown. We studied 25 patients with TP53-mutated PEL including 16 d-PEL and 9 t-PEL. Both groups had comparable clinical findings and overall survival....
