Eastern and western spotted skunks (Spilogale putorius and Spilogale gracilis) serve as definitive hosts for skunk cranial worm (Skrjabingylus chitwoodorum), a metastrongylid nematode that spends its adult stage inhabiting the frontal sinuses of the host cranium.
