BACKGROUND: A small proportion of Non-Small Cell Lung Cancers (NSCLC) are detected with Anaplastic Lymphoma Kinase (ALK) mutation by immunohistochemistry (IHC) but are negative by Fluorescence in situ Hybridization (FISH).
