In this study, two road-killed marbled polecats (Vormela peregusna) were molecularly analysed for tick-borne pathogens. Rickettsia raoultii, "Candidatus Rickettsia barbariae" and a novel Babesia genotype have been identified, for the first time in marbled polecat.
