Abstract excerpt
Pigs housed in groups are remixed with unfamiliar individuals, which can trigger aggressive interactions, potentially compromising animal welfare. Skin lesions are a reliable indicator trait of aggression and are moderately heritable, suggesting that aggression may be reduced through selection.
