INTRODUCTION: Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is an aggressive hematologic malignancy with inadequate treatment options. Approximately one-third of cases have a FLT3-ITD or FLT3-TKD mutation which leads to constitutive tyrosine kinase activation which contributes to leukemogenesis.
