Neuralgic amyotrophy of the shoulder (Parsonage-Turner syndrome) is a rare condition of unknown aetiology which manifests as acute neuropathy of the brachial plexus. Diagnosis is based on typical symptoms and physical examination. In addition, magnetic resonance imaging of the affected shoulder and the cervical spine is advisable, in order to distinguish this syndrome from other conditions with similar symptoms....
