PURPOSE OF REVIEW: Catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia (CPVT) is a life-threatening syndrome defined by exercise-induced or emotion-induced ventricular arrhythmias, typically caused by gain-of-function mutations in RYR2-encoded ryanodine receptor-2 (RyR2).
