BACKGROUND: Restenosis after carotid endarterectomy (CEA) is a potential complication after surgery for carotid stenosis. Stroke after CEA is a debilitating complication secondary to restenosis, and modification of postoperative care may be necessary to decrease the incidence of postoperative stroke after CEA.
