The evolution of nine microsatellites and one minisatellite was investigated in the fungus Fusarium oxysporum and sister taxa Fusarium redolens and Fusarium verticillioides. Compared to other organisms, fungi have been reported to contain fewer and less polymorphic microsatellites.
