Abstract excerpt
Genotype G1 of rotaviruses (RVs) is the most prevalent strain in human RV infections around the world. The present study evaluated genetic variations in the VP7 gene of RV G1 genotype isolates from Iran. Genetic and phylogenetic analyses indicated that RV strains from Iran clustered with G1 lineages IA, IC, and IIC, showing highest average of similarity versus reference sequences of the G1 lineages I and II.
