BACKGROUND: Mucoepidermoid carcinoma arises from major or minor salivary glands, making up 10% of salivary gland tumors. Intraosseous mucoepidermoid carcinomas are rare, and make up only 2% to 3% of all mucoepidermoid carcinomas.
