Familial type III hyperlipoproteinemia(HLP) is characterized by increased plasma triglyceride(TG) and plasma remnant lipoproteins(chyromicron remnants and VLDL remnants i.e. IDL). Remnants predispose affected subjects to premature or accelerated atherosclerosis. Clinical features of type III HLP with apo E2/2 genotype are examined in 26 Japanese patients.
