Tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), imatinib, nilotinib and dasatinib, are the current treatment of chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). BCR-ABL1 point mutations are the principal cause of resistance to treatment; however other mechanisms could be involved in failure to TKI therapy.
