Cryopreservation preserves cells at low temperature and creates a reserve for future use while executing the clinical translation. Unlike articular chondrocyte, cryopreservation protocol and its outcome are not described in iliac apophyseal chondrocytes, a potential source of chondrocytes in cartilage engineering.
