Freezing or catalepsy is a passive-defensive reaction to stress. The participation of brain serotonin (5-HT) in the regulation of catalepsy was shown. The major gene of predisposition to catalepsy in CBA strain was localized in a 59-70 cM fragment of chromosome 13.
