CONTEXT: Sequential conversion of Hashimoto's thyroiditis (HT) to Graves' disease (GD) is uncommon. Distinct immune paradigms, paucity of functioning tissue in long-standing HT, and infrequent conversion of blocking (TBAb) to stimulating (TSAb) thyrotrophin receptor antibody (TRAb) may account for this.
