A male infant exhibited thrombocytopenia at birth, and later developed leukocytosis, monocytosis, and bloody stool. The bone marrow was hypercellular with dysplasia. Spontaneous granulocyte/macrophage-colony formation and hypersensitivity to granulocyte/macrophage-colony stimulating factor were confirmed by in vitro culture.
