PREMISE OF THE STUDY: We developed microsatellite markers for Schoenoplectus juncoides, a weed found in rice paddy fields in eastern Asia. METHODS AND RESULTS: Ten dinucleotide microsatellite loci were isolated, and genetic variability within and among local populations were characterized.
