A Gram-stain-positive, aerobic, non-motile, psychrophilic bacterium, designated strain Cr6-08(T), was isolated from alpine glacier cryoconite. Growth of strain Cr6-08(T) occurred at 1-25 °C. Phylogenetic analyses based on 16S rRNA gene sequences revealed that strain Cr6-08(T) is most closely related to members of the genus Arthrobacter.
