The vestigial (Vg) mutant is a Z-linked mutant that causes vestigial wings in the silkworm, Bombyx mori. We have previously reported a 1.5-Mb interstitial deletion on the Z chromosome bearing the Vg mutation (Z(Vg) chromosome).
