Human lysosomal beta-glucosidase (D-glucosyl-acylsphingosine glucohydrolase, EC 3.2.1.45) is a membrane-associated enzyme that cleaves the beta-glucosidic linkage of glucosylceramide (glucocerebroside), its natural substrate, as well as synthetic beta-glucosides.
