In our research, single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of exon regions of the myostatin gene were detected by PCR-SSCP in the Bian chicken and three reference chicken populations (Jinghai, Youxi, and Arbor Acre). Four novel SNPs (G2283A, C7552T, C7638T, and T7661A) were detected.
