Protein O-mannose N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase 1 (POMGnT1) is an enzyme that catalyzes the transfer of N-acetylglucosamine to O-mannose of glycoproteins. It is involved in posttranslational modification of alpha-dystroglycan (alpha-DG). POMGnT1-null mice were generated by gene trapping with a retroviral vector inserted into exon 2 of the POMGnT1 gene.
