OBJECTIVES: Alagille syndrome (AGS) frequently presents with neonatal jaundice and can mimic other causes of high gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase (GGT) cholestasis, most notably biliary atresia. As a result infants with AGS may undergo intraoperative cholangiogram and even Kasai procedure.
