PURPOSE: Glycogen Storage Disease Type III, glycogen debranching enzyme deficiency, causes accumulation of glycogen in liver, skeletal, and cardiac muscle. Some patients develop increased left ventricular thickness by echocardiography, but the rate of increase and its significance remain unclear.
