A novel strictly aerobic, orange-pigmented, Gram-stain-negative bacterium, designated strain GJ16(T), was isolated from coastal seawater of Gangjin Bay, the southernmost part of the Korean peninsula, and subjected to a polyphasic taxonomic study.
