A Gram-positive, non-motile and rod- or coccoid-shaped bacterial strain, MDN22(T), was isolated from a soil sample from Korea. Strain MDN22(T) grew optimally at pH 7.0-8.0, at 30 degrees C and in the presence of 0-0.5 % (w/v) NaCl.
