OBJECTIVES: Multidrug-resistant (MDR) Acinetobacter baumannii is a growing concern in many countries. This report describes patient demographics, antimicrobial susceptibilities and molecular characteristics of A. baumannii cases identified through the Canadian Ward Surveillance Study (CANWARD).
