Chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH) is characterized by pulmonary hypertension caused by thromboembolism of the pulmonary artery. Etiology of CTEPH may be heterogeneous and is largely unknown, but genetic factors are considered to be involved in the etiology.
