A polyphasic taxonomic approach was used to study strain 12116T, which was isolated from desert sand in Xinjiang, China. Cells of the isolate were Gram-negative, non-motile, rod-shaped and aerobic. MK-7 was the predominant respiratory menaquinone. The DNA G+C content was 46.3 mol%.
