SUMMARY: EIN3 is a key transcription factor in the signaling pathway of the plant hormone ethylene in Arabidopsis. Ethylene signaling suppresses the 26S proteasome-mediated proteolysis of EIN3, the accumulation of which induces ethylene-responsive gene expression.
