Antenatal sonographic diagnosis of twin-twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS) is based on findings of a twin oligo-polyhydramnios sequence (TOPS) observed in monochorionic twin fetuses. However, TTTS can develop without a significant characteristic intertwin discordance in the amniotic fluid volumes.
